High School, Grades 9-12 - Room 201 - The class for senior high students seeks to engage students in a challenging dialogue of discovering how their evolving faith can equip them to deal with myriad influences of a changing and dynamic world. The class is quite informal and often follows current events or concerns of daily life.

DAILY LIVING DISCUSSION HOUR - This class, facilitated by Robin Moseley, is a new approach to the hour before worship and is especially designed for adults not currently involved in any pre-worship hour study or discussion.

Adults will be able to come together and discuss topics of interest the class participants will assemble. At the end of each session we hope to be able to better understand what the Bible says about the day's topic. Since we do not all interpret certain Biblical passages the same way, there will be differences of opinion. As we struggle together for clarity - perhaps we can all find some.

The ultimate goal of the time we spend together is to help us all recognize the value of living daily - as opposed to simply getting through daily living, and the time we spend together will better prepare us for worship and enhance our worship.

KOINONIA - Koinonia means believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith, and encouragement. That is the essence of koinonia.

This adult class, facilitated by Tacey and Bob Gohean, is the completely revised and expanded version of Living the Questions, the popular video & Internet-based small-group exploration of progressive Christianity featuring premier religion voices of our day.

Living the Questions 2.0 is an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what's next for Christianity.

JOURNEY OF FAITH - This discussion-based class, facilitated by Ann Bright and Clyde Moody, will use a variety of videos and other media to explore the wisdom found in Christianity and other faith traditions that help answer questions regarding the meaning of life, prayer, aging, happiness, community, etc.

"What better way for Christians to engage their commandment to love thy neighbor, than to learn what those neighbors hold most sacred? And while they are at it, what better way to learn more about what they hold most sacred themselves?" (An Altar in the World, p. 100)

Each class session will be self-contained and requires no pre-class reading. The goal of the class is not so much to gain information as it is to nurture and support one another on our journey of faith.

THE PRESENT WORD - The Present Word seeks to facilitate mastery of Bible content, understanding of the Bible in relation to life experiences and a greater awareness of God's self-disclosure, especially God's redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ. Participants are invited to reflect on how they might live in faith and love.

The Present Word nurtures individual growth of the participants as children of God rooted in the Christian community, life in the Spirit and Christian hope. Discussion and activities encourage participants to live out their faith in their individual and congregational activities. Leaders of this class are Zane Abernethy and Jim Blackwelder.
